Our delivery policy

When you click on a title for its details you will see ( just below the ‘add to cart’ button) that we aim to dispatch it within 24 hours or after various other times. For titles in our supplier’s warehouse this will be 5–7 days. If our supplier is out of stock but has some on order, it is impossible to be precise about how long it will take. However, we estimate that on average it will be about two weeks. If our supplier currently has none on order we say it is a ‘Backorder title (month or more)’. Sometimes it is sooner than a month but conversely we may not be able to get one at all and will have to cancel your order and refund your payment.

We try our best to keep information about supplier stock levels on our site current so we don’t mislead you on our estimates of delivery times. However, availability of titles is changing constantly. With millions of books in print it’s no exaggeration to say that the last new copy of at least one title could become permanently unavailable in the time it takes you to read this page.

If there is a delay in supplying some of the audio books on you order, we may hold one or more for a short time to save on our postage costs but we will generally send your books separately as they become available.

Your books will be carefully packed and sent by Australia Post as outlined below. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us by email, or by phone, fax or letter.

Express option

Choosing express mail will not shorten the dispatch time, which is the time it takes for the relevant supplier to deliver a title to us before we post it to you. It will only shorten the delivery time from Canberra to where you live in Australia (this may be worthwhile if you live in, for example, Western Australia). The cost for express is $7 for standard audio books or $10 for larger/heavier ones.

We also reserve the right to, after posting the first parcel express, to use our discretion to post one or more subsequent parcels by normal post to keep our postage cost for the order to a reasonable level.

We sometimes post orders in separate satchels, at our expense, as books on backorder become available. This is especially so if we indicated in your confirmation email that we could dispatch a number of titles at the one time and then found we could not.

The postage charge for your order is calculated and shown well before you confirm it.

Most overseas customers will have their postage calculated automatically by our postage system. If your country is not on the list offered on the order page, please contact us.
